The Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum warms up the engines for the year 2016 event: Ferruccio Lamborghini Anniversary

EVENT – 01/14/2016

To celebrate his father 100th birthday, the entrepreneur Tonino Lamborghini conceived an event through the Emilia Motor Valley with different stopovers dedicated to Lamborghini Club all over the world, fans of the Bull brand and sport cars lovers.

April 12th 2016, Argelato (BO), Italy – 2016 is Ferruccio Lamborghini’s year. 100 years ago the famous genius of mechanics and Italian entrepreneur, Ferruccio, was born in Renazzo di Cento, in the Ferrara province. Ever since the Lamborghini name has been renowned worldwide, as a brand that has outshined in different sectors (from tractors to sport cars, from mechanics to hydraulics components, up to cooling and heating systems) and as an Italian symbol of high quality and excellence.

To remember the Cavaliere del Lavoro Ferruccio Lamborghini (awarded by the Order Merit for Labour by the President of the Italian Republic), the first of a series of initiatives that will be organized for the ‘Ferruccio Lamborghini Anniversary‘ throughout the 2016 will take place from April 28th to the 30th . This first event is mainly dedicated to the Lamborghini Clubs all over the world, fans of the Lamborghini brand legend and sport cars lovers.

It is a rich program of events which will last three days with several initiatives on the Emilian roads, places where Ferruccio was born and grew up: from Ferrara to Bologna, passing by the Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum in Argelato, the car company in Sant’Agata Bolognese, the Magi Contemporary Art Museum in Pieve di Cento, the Autocarrozzeria Imperiale in Mirandola (authorized technical partner of the Lamborghini Automobili), the Righini collection of classic cars, including the motor-racing track of Modena, where the cars will be able to unleash the horsepower of their engines. The fulcrum of this special week will be the Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum, in Argelato, right outside the city of Bologna; it is the new museum belonging to the family, conceived and designed by the entrepreneur Tonino Lamborghini one year ago. At the Museum, on April 28, the exact date of Ferruccio’s birthday anniversary, a special Gala will take place with music by Italian famous Teo Ciavarella’s band and a surprise entertainment for all the guests.

‘I’m very glad and proud to present you the program of the event that my family and I have conceived to honor the 100th birthday anniversary of my father, Ferruccio.’ – Mr. Lamborghini declared at the launch of this project. ‘On this occasion I will be happy to have around all those who appreciated and loved not only what he did, but also what he represented for the Italian industry. It is our desire to celebrate first the man, through the places and locations of his personal story, and then the entrepreneur who indelibly marked the world of mechanics and engineering. It will be –Tonino concluding – a dive into the Lamborghini history that I wish you will love to relive with me and with my whole family’.

To celebrate the 100th birthday of Ferruccio, the Lamborghini family has entitled My Motorland of Travel Agency Mollotutto for the organization of the event, from enrolment to the event planning and logistics, and cars renting.

The Museum was conceived and founded by the entrepreneur Tonino Lamborghini to celebrate the genius of his father Ferruccio in the mechanics, engineering, and industrial design sectors. Inaugurated in 2014, the Museum houses all of the industrial production of the engineer honoris causa Ferruccio Lamborghini: from the first Carioca tractor with which he started his industrial group in 1947, moving on to the first track laying tractors, to the 70’s models; from the 350GTV prototype to the 400GT; from the Ferruccio’s own epic MiuraSV to the futuristic Countach; from the Jarama models to the Jalpa prototypes; from the Urraco to the Espada with seagull wing doors that inspired the car of the movie Back to the Future; the 11-time world champion Fast 45 Diablo Class 1 offshore boat 13,5 meters long with Lamborghini engines; an amazing working Lamborghini helicopter with dual controls; Lamborghini burners, heaters, and cooling systems; the famous ‘Barchetta’ built by Ferruccio to compete in the Mille Miglia of 1948; the reconstruction of the first personal office of Ferruccio in Lamborghini Tractors with his personal effects; a space dedicated to other cars and motorcycles of the period during which Ferruccio was creating, but also belonging to the Lamborghini family or to the thousands of people who revolved around him.

A few kilometers from downtown Bologna and in the center of the Motor Valley, the Museum is a space dedicated to the value of memory yet at the same time, forward looking toward innovation and challenge: a journey inside the legend who represents the excellence of Made in Italy.

The Ferruccio Lamborghini Museum is held in a 9000mq Forum that includes a shop with books, accessories and several areas available for events and business meeting.

The Museum is available for guided tours with highly qualified people who guide the visitors inside an expositive area that shows Ferruccio Lamborghini universe and official story. The guides focus the attention on the most important models that helped building the myth of the Bull, describing their design and distinctive technical characteristics. The Museum offers visitors of all ages the possibility to see in detail some special treasures that wrote the history of Italian automotive innovation and design.
